I am Michelle. I was diagnosed with JM June 2004 just 2 days after my 5th birthday. I began treatment in July 2004 at 38 pounds. The steroids had their effects and I topped off the side effects at 83 pounds, high blood pressure and a wheel chair. (what a way to change in kindergarten) On March 16, 2007 I no longer had to take medications for JM. The physical appearance changes from the medications went away and now people ask me about when I use to look different rather than why do I look different.
