Livy

My name is Livy and I am 6 years old. I was diagnosed with JDM on February 21, 2018 at the age of 5. I was not able to do many things. It started with my legs feeling weak, I could not run the bases in T-Ball or walk upstairs to my bedroom. It became hard to sit down on the floor and get up, I would plop on the floor because my legs were too weak. Shortly after I was diagnosed when my flare was at its worst, I could not take care of myself like brush my own hair, take a shower, get out of bed or even climb one step, I could not feed myself or move at all and everything hurt. My doctors at Children's Hospital Los Angeles took really good care of me. After 3 days in the hospital of lots of blood tests, and IV Steroid Infusions, I went home. I have been taking prednisone daily and every Friday I get a injection of Methotrexate, I go to the hospital once a month for IVIG. Four months later, I am doing a lot better, I am back to school, walking upstairs, riding my bike and swimming (at night of course)! Thank you to Cure JM for everything you are doing for us kids!
