Khelsey

Khelsey

December last year we went to KZN/Durban (in South Africa) for the illness of my father-in-law. Durban being very hot, I had reason to believe the butter-fly look to be sunburn, and Khelsey’s lethargy being the heat and pure childlike laziness (laugh). After the funeral on the 15th of Jan we came home, getting ready for the excitement of school. Khelsey went to school, and was very disturbed when her teacher said that she has ugly handwriting (she is a very diligent and neat child). I took her to my G.P and he referred us to Red X with a letter for LUPUS........ after many blood tests and cat scans and all the scary stuff, we were referred by Dr Scott to the Princess Alice Ward at Groote Schuur hospital where they diagnosed her with JDM. I was very concerned as Khelsey also suffers with chronic asthma. With the help of Dr Scott and technology, Khelsey is doing fine, only adding on weight and excessively" hairy." She's very disciplined with her medication and hospital visits.
