Hi, I am Emily and I am 10 years old. I was diagnosed with JDM in September 2002. I started feeling weak and couldn't do the things I was used to doing. I started falling a lot and within 2 weeks I couldn't even brush my teeth or hair. After 4 doctors, we found Dr. Pachman in Chicago who started treating me and I started getting better. I can now do just about anything I want. I'm weaning off methaltrexate! I can't wait until I don't have to get a shot every week! I love drawing, singing, dancing and swimming. My favorite color is purple and I love spaghetti! I have 2 brothers, Justin and Jacob. I hope we find a cure for JM soon. If we don't, I am going to find one when I grow up!
