Hi, my name is Danielle and I am 3 years old. I live on a farm in the Cederberg Mountains in South Africa. My mom first noticed the rash above my right eye on my third birthday. I was diagnosed with JDM on 17 July 2008 and has been taking prednisone, methotrexate and folic acid for the last month. My mother says that I am a special child as I never complain about the taste of the prednisone and methotrexate pills - I chew them and tell her it tastes great!! I have an older brother, Jován, and I love to ride his quad-bike with him - avoiding the sun will be a problem for me as I love being outdoors - we live in a conservation area. I haven't met anyone in South Africa with JDM yet, but I am grateful for the support our family has received from the CureJM foundation. When I am older and grown-up, I want to become a Barbie Doll!
