Hi, my name is Brandt. I am 6 & live in Wisconsin with my mom, dad, older brother, Taylor, & cat, Kerby. I was diagnosed with juvenile dermatomyositis in January 2007, right after my 5th birthday. My legs weren't feeling very good, & it was hard for me to walk, get dressed, climb up & down stairs, & sit up on the couch. I like to play chess with my brother. I like to play games,especially video & computer games, drive my new remote control car, play with cars, & ride my bike & scooter. This summer I got to play T-ball for the first time. I am in Kindergarten & am the tallest boy in my class. I am taking Prednisolone, Hydroxychloroquine, Methotrexate, Ranitidine, & receive IVIG & IV steroid treatments. I don't like taking lots of medicines every day, but if I didn't, my legs wouldn't feel very good..
